Trent James
I was born and
raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I am 41 years old. I moved to Nashville full
time in 1992 and have played with many different bands and artists. I am mainly
a bass player, but can do several other things including but not limited to:
singing both lead and some harmony, emceeing, comedy, fronting and band leading.
Of course I didn't say I could do any of them well. I am all about keeping
traditional country music going. I'm really into Webb Pierce and Buck Owens, and
many other artists, but especially the Bakersfield style artists. I take pride
in being a traditional country styled bass player. That whole feel is so totally
lacking in the trash, yes trash, they call "country music" nowadays. Yeah, I
have strong opinions, and am not afraid to share them.
I always give 100% effort on stage, and always want to do a great show
for the crowd, whether there are 10 or 10,000, and I've been in both situations.
My current gigs are playing bass for Jett Williams & The Drifting Cowboys. Jett
is the daughter of Hank Williams Sr. and the Drifting Cowboys are a band with
almost 70 years of lineage, so it's cool to me to be a small part of it. I also
get to open the shows for Jett some of the time. I was provided with the
highlight of my career this past New Years Eve when I received the honor of
playing with Jett on the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman! How do you top that?
Playing the Opry was my lifelong dream/goal, and it was great to get to do it,
and I hope to get to do it again! Check out Jett at

I'm also currently playing bass at the Music Ranch USA with the
fabulous Country Cookin' Band most Saturdays. It's a weekly Jamboree Show in
West Point, Ky. You can check out the website at

I'm experienced, hard working, dependable, knowledgeable and
professional.
